Parque Nacional Chingaza
The Chingaza National Park is situated between the regions Cundinamarca and Meta nearby Colombia´s Capital Bogotá. The Park is part of the Orinoco River Basin.There are about 40 natural glacial lakes including the Lake Chingaza which can be found at an altitude of more than 3,200 meters. Besides its beautiful scenery, the Park is home to lots of wildlife such as turkeys, jaguars, toucans, bears, condors, pumas, monkeys and deer. The park used to be the home of the Muisca Indians. For those who want to stay in the Park there is a quality campsite. Chingaza is a paradise for nature lovers and offers a unique experience in the Colombian Andes. The Park can be reached within one hour by car from Bogotá.
