Cueva de los Guácharos National Park
The Park has about 60 mammal species such as tapirs, bears and primates. This place is also interesting for birdwatching because there are more than 300 bird species. Some of the highlights are the endemic frog species and snakes.
The park is very interesting because of ist trees which include the Colombian pine, black oak, white oak, walnut, cumin trees and many more.
For visiting the National Park a permission from the National Park Headquaters in Bogotá is necessary. Visitors should bring clothes for cold and rainy weather. For overnight stays it is possible to stay in the camping area or in the Andaquí Visitor Center. Besides the wildlife and the beautiful flora, the Park has beautiful waterfalls, caves and the River Suaza with its natural bridges.
